Welcome to Hunting the Rez Magazine, a magazine that is written with the non-enrolled sportsman in mind. Hunting the Rez is a quarterly publication, its aim is to provide the general public with a directory to 52 million additional acres of hunting and fishing opportunities right here in the United States. With hunting grounds getting harder and harder to find due to a myriad of reasons, we believe that Indian country is the biggest best little secret hot spot for sportsmen all across the globe.
One of our main goals is to inspire you to plan an exciting hunting or fishing adventure in Indian country, and then to serve as a resource in helping you plan that adventure. There are many distinct advantages to hunting in Indian country, for example; many tribes have rifle seasons during bugling season as opposed to the states. Some tribes even offer extended seasons for non-enrolled sportsmen.
Native American tribes have the resources and management means to realize the responsibility that stewardship of these lands carry and work with wildlife biologists for quality game management, and are implementing sound strategies for protection and promotion of resident wildlife. Many tribes are reintroducing animals on our respective lands, such as wild turkey, big horn sheep, buffalo and moose, a management strategy that serves as a base from which we can build and sustain a renewable natural resource.
Some of God’s most beautiful country is on Indian lands. We hope you find an adventure you remember for a life time in these pages. If there is a special adventure you are looking for, give me a call and we will see what we can do. Remember you have 224 large land based tribes with millions of acres in the US and Canada, with a whole host of wildlife biologists, guides, and wardens to ensure you have a successful experience.
Join the Hunting the Rez team in our way of life for an adventure of your life. I hope you take us up on this offer and contact us with your photos and stories of success in the field.
May all your hunts be of trophy caliber. See you in the field.

OUR MISSION: Hunting The Rez (HTR) was conceived from the love of outdoors, respect for nature and the responsibility it carries.
HTR’s mission is to promote Tribal hunting, fishing, and recreational opportunities for Non-enrolled recreationalists through integrity and in a culturally sensitive manner.
HTR recognizes the need for wildlife management in Indian Country and will serve to support tribes with a directory of the opportunities to enhance fish and wildlife in Indian Country.
HTR recognizes great opportunities for both Tribes and the non-enrolled member hunting programs that exist on those respective tribes. Therefore HTR will serve as a directory for non-enrolled members seeking hunting, fishing, and recreational opportunities in Indian country.
