Glacier Gateway Outfitter’s is owned and operated by Truman “Mouse” Hall and Joy Hall, a small outfitter business located in East Glacier, Montana.

Truman “Mouse” Hall was born to Bill Hall and Minnie Whiteman Hall on April 27, 1940 joining 10 other children. Mouse’s grandfather John Hall came to Montana from Texas on the first cattle drive, where he married a Blackfeet woman named Josephine Mountain Chief, she was the daughter of “Many Horses.”

Mouse was given his great grandfather’s Blackfeet name of “Many Horses” the eldest son of the famed war chief  “Mountain Chief” who led the last great battle with the United States Government.

Horses were always important to the Blackfeet people whether it was for war, berry picking or transporting the clan and their belongings.

Mouse’s dream as a youngster was to have many horses. Mouse has spent his life raising horses for many uses and still makes his living with horses.  Mouse raised horses for the racetrack as a young man.  He has spent his entire life raising Bucking horses and contracting rodeos and now uses horses to run his outfitter business in East Glacier, Montana.

As a young man, Mouse rode saddle bronc, bareback and steer wrestled.  Mouse started raising bucking horses as a young man and now Mouse Hall bucking horses are known throughout the United States and Canada for his successful breeding program.  Mouse has raised several horses that made their way to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Mouse proudly wears a National Finals Buckle, for “Spring Fling” who won the 10th round of the NFR.

Mouse and his family have held the Hall Rodeos on Badger Creek and the Glacier Gateway Rodeos where Mouse showcases his horses.  Mouse does this not for profit, but so that young bronc riders from the Blackfeet Reservation
can learn to ride bucking horses on quality stock.

Through his rodeo program several young world champions have came out of his chutes bringing them to National Fame in the High School, College and Professional Rodeos.  It is this that makes Mouse Hall proud helping the youth of the Blackfeet Reservation.  Mouse has committed to having Alcohol and Drug free rodeos for the past 25 years, hoping to teach the youth that you don’t have to drink to be a cowboy.  Mouse helped open and was the first director of the first treatment center on the Blackfeet reservation.

Mouse now runs his Glacier Gateway horseback concession in East Glacier, Montana teaching others to ride horses and the value that horses have in Blackfeet culture, as well as all wildlife.  Mouse offers people opportunities to ride horseback deep into the heart of the Blackfeet Country and hunt with there camera.  His love and respect for wildlife offers to perfect opportunity for those passionate about wildlife photography.  Mouse also offers cattle drives twice a year for those who want to get a real taste of the west.  If you are interested in horseback riding, wildlife photography or a great trip with a true Indian Cowboy, you will want to book a trip with Glacier Gateway Outfitters at 406-338-5560 Nov-April or 406-226-4408 May-Oct.
